New to "Gluten Free"?

What is Gluten?
- Gluten refers to the proteins found in wheat endosperm (a type of tissue produced in seeds that's ground to make flour), barley, rye, and triticale (wheat/rye hybrid)
What to avoid?
- There are 3 main food-stuffs which contain these proteins:
- Wheat
- Barely (malt)
- Rye
- Notable foods to be weary of:
- Bread
- Pasta
- Cakes/Cookies
- Cereals
- Beer
- Soy Sauce
- Soup
- Food coloring
- Oats (Debatable, best to use gluten free oats instead)
Um, so what can you eat?
- These foods are naturally gluten free:
- Raw fruits
- Raw vegetables
- Meats (plain, w/o seasonings!)
- Fish
- Spices
- Dairy
- Oils
- Water
- Rice
- Potatoes
- Nuts
